This is winter
Southern Finland has had a rare white christmas this time. I’m enthralled by the beautiful white surfaces and I enjoy the freezing wind on my face. This is winter!
Then I come to think about how increasingly rare a proper snow cover is going to be in the years to come, and it saddens me. I’m tempted to start down the thought spiral that ends somewhere in climate change induced armageddon.
But then I try to remind myself to really open my eyes, to see what is in front of me, right now. And I’m enthralled by the beautiful white surfaces and I enjoy the freezing wind on my face. THIS is winter!
