Christmas gift idea
Here’s a cheap and minimalist idea I heard from a friend last week: Find out what book your gift’s recipient has been wanting to read for a while. Then go to the library, borrow the book, package it and give it as a gift. After the borrow period expires, return it on the recipients behalf.
I think this is a great gift for the following reasons:
- It costs no money, just some time and effort.
- Books are a great gift.
- But most people read most books only once, after which they stay on the bookshelf collecting dust and becoming clutter.
- And most of all I think this book shows your recipient that you have a genuine interest in them, as you’ve taken the trouble to find out their taste in books instead of just buying the latest christmas bestseller “because everyone wants it”.
